The Emergency Response Technology Policy Research Center at Dong-A University (Director: Professor Lee Dongkyu) has signed an MOU with Green Package Solution (CEO: Ahn Sunghoon) and also held an awards ceremony for the "UX Innovation Contest for the Elderly Generation."
This agreement was promoted to expand the use of eco-friendly industrial new materials and to activate cooperation projects in the disaster and environmental sectors, aiming for sustainable development.
Green Package Solution started its eco-friendly (Fiber Mold) packaging business as an R&D agent in 2016. The company develops a variety of eco-friendly containers and packages made from plant-based materials (bamboo and sugarcane), and is taking on global environmental challenges to reduce plastic use.
The "UX Innovation Contest for the Elderly Generation," jointly organized by the Dong-A University Emergency Response Technology Policy Research Center and Green Package Solution, was prepared to foster the problem-solving abilities of local youth. It targeted trainees in the "Gerontechnology-Based AI Platform Developer Training Program."
Contest participants proposed innovative ideas from a user experience (UX) perspective by combining social issues related to the elderly with eco-friendly packaging.

Professor Lee Dongkyu, head of the "Gerontechnology-Based AI Platform Developer Training Program" at Dong-A University, said, "Starting with this agreement, we will prepare measures to provide meals and delivery in plant-based containers, considering the nutrition of the elderly. We will also strive to contribute to solving elderly issues in the mid- to long-term by linking the use of AI meal monitoring and nutrition management platforms based on gerontechnology with elderly welfare."
