Miryang Holds the 69th Memorial Day Ceremony
To the Patriotic Martyrs and National Heroes... We Will Never Forget Their Noble Values and Spirit
Miryang City, Gyeongnam, announced on the 7th that, in commemoration of Patriots and Veterans Month, it held a Memorial Day ceremony on the 6th at the Chungheon Tower (116, Miryangdaegongwon-ro) to honor the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country.
This year's ceremony, marking its 69th anniversary, was attended by Miryang Mayor Ahn Byunggu, provincial and city council members, national merit recipients, bereaved families, members of veterans' organizations, heads of institutions and organizations, and about 800 citizens.

View original imageThe event began at 10 a.m. with a nationwide silent tribute, followed by a memorial address, recitation of a commemorative poem, performance of a memorial song, and singing of the Memorial Day song.
Notably, Hong Seonghun, a child of a fallen soldier, recited the commemorative poem "Your Names Are Immortal" by writer Noh Hoseong, delivering a deeply moving and resonant moment to those in attendance.
