Gwangjin-gu Supports Safety 3-Pack for Single-Person Households
Applications Open for Single-Person Households in Gwangjin-gu from June 10 to July 5
Smart Doorbells, Home CCTV, and Entrance Safety Devices Provided to 170 Households
Support Limited to Households with Monthly Rent Deposits and Owned Home Values Below 300 Million KRW
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is implementing a Safe Home Set support project for single-person households to prevent crime and provide a safe residential environment.
As of May 2024, there are 85,838 single-person households in Gwangjin-gu, accounting for half of the total number of households in the district. In particular, areas around Konkuk University and Sejong University have a high concentration of single-person households, ranking tenth among Seoul's autonomous districts in terms of single-person household population.
Accordingly, the district will provide practical safety items that single-person households can use at home. These include three types: ▲smart doorbell ▲home CCTV ▲front door safety device. The smart doorbell allows users to check visitors via a linked smartphone when the bell is rung or motion is detected. The home CCTV enables real-time monitoring to watch for external intruders even from outside the home. The front door safety device is attached to the door to prevent the handle from turning, thereby stopping the door from opening.
The application period is from June 10 to July 5, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible applicants are single-person households with monthly rent deposits or home ownership values of 300 million KRW or less. A total of 170 households will be supported, with 150 selected from applicants and 20 recommended by police stations in vulnerable areas. The safety items require a smartphone and Wi-Fi for installation.
Applications can be submitted online by attaching required documents such as resident registration certificates and lease contracts. For more details, contact the Family Welfare Division of Gwangjin-gu Office.
