Launch of Dongdaemun-gu Saemaeul Disinfection Volunteer Corps
Over 100 Saemaeul Movement members and others attended the launch ceremony at Jungnangcheon 1st Sports Park on the 4th
EM mud ball throwing and other Jungnangcheon cleanup activities followed
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) held the '2024 Saemaeul Disinfection Volunteer Corps Launch Ceremony' on the 4th at Jungnangcheon No.1 Sports Park, organized by the Saemaeul Leaders Dongdaemun-gu Council, and conducted a cleanup activity along Jungnangcheon.
The event, attended by about 100 Saemaeul Movement organization executives and members, proceeded with the national anthem, opening address, congratulatory speeches, reading of the resolution, and disinfection equipment demonstration.
After the launch ceremony, participants also engaged in activities such as throwing EM mud balls and collecting trash along the riverbank to clean Jungnangcheon.
Starting from this launch ceremony, the Saemaeul Disinfection Volunteer Corps plans to organize teams by neighborhood until November and focus on disinfection in alleys and vulnerable areas within the district.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, who participated in the event, said, “I thank the Saemaeul Disinfection Volunteer Corps for their dedication to disinfection efforts to make Dongdaemun-gu safe and pleasant. Please pay special attention to safety during disinfection activities, and the district office will do its best to support smooth disinfection operations.”
