Gumi Small Business Support Center Launched... Strong Ally for Small Business Owners
Opening of Chamber of Commerce Office, a New Step for Economic Vitality
MOU Signed with 8 Related Organizations, Anticipating Network Building and Active Support
On the 4th, the city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province opened the 'Gumi Small Business Support Center,' the first dedicated support institution for small business owners in the province, on the 4th floor of the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The 'Gumi Small Business Support Center' is a key pledge of Mayor Kim Jangho's 8th municipal administration. In response to the ongoing economic downturn following COVID-19, the city established a dedicated support institution to assist struggling small business owners.
The Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry was selected as the private agency to operate the center and will house the office within its premises. The Chamber will also provide free interior design and rental support for the space.
The center will serve as a platform that consolidates information on various programs from related organizations and delivers customized, user-centered information. It will also provide up to two comprehensive consulting sessions per business, including free legal, labor, and tax/accounting consultations, to help small business owners respond quickly to changing market conditions and create a stable business environment.
On the same day, the city of Gumi signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with organizations related to small business support.
There are a total of eight participating organizations, including the city of Gumi, the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Gumi Small Business Support Center, the Gumi Center of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, the Gyeongbuk Economic Promotion Agency, the Gyeongbuk Credit Guarantee Foundation, the Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, and the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute.
Through this agreement, it is expected that mutual information exchange and enhanced cooperation will enable local small business owners to benefit from a variety of support programs.
In particular, since the headquarters of provincial-level support organizations such as the Gyeongbuk Economic Promotion Agency, Gyeongbuk Credit Guarantee Foundation, and Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation are located in Gumi, local small business owners can easily visit the institution of their choice.
Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "We will actively promote policies that empower small business owners and further revitalize the local economy. We will strive to ensure that the Gumi Small Business Support Center becomes a strong ally for small business owners."
The Gumi Small Business Support Center plans to offer: ▲ Support programs for promising small businesses (brand and design improvement support, securing intellectual property rights through applications) ▲ Online business support (keyword and banner advertising on platforms such as Naver, Gmarket, Coupang, and support for delivery fees and discount coupons on intermediary platforms such as Baemin and Yogiyo) ▲ Essential management training (startup procedures, commercial district selection, basic labor and tax knowledge, basic courses on intellectual property and trademark rights) ▲ Digital marketing education (utilizing online and offline marketing, methods for planning online businesses). Applications will be accepted on the Gumi Small Business Support Center website starting June 10, and inquiries can be made by phone.
