Shared Awareness on Climate Change Challenges Facing Global Transportation Industry...Explored Sustainable Public Transportation Development Strategies
Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho) attended the UITP Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul on the 4th.

The meeting, co-hosted by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, was attended by over 100 officials from major transportation organizations worldwide.
At the meeting, Kim Seong-ryeol, Senior Director of Seoul Metro, participated as the Vice Chair of the UITP Asia-Pacific region.
The Senior Director presented on the key roles of public transportation and efforts to address climate change, exchanging information and technology with the chairpersons of the Asia-Pacific meeting.
The UITP delegation plans to visit Seoul Metro headquarters on the 5th, touring the Second Control Center and Gunja Vehicle Depot located at the headquarters.
Through this meeting, Seoul Metro expects to share awareness of climate change issues faced by the global transportation industry with member organizations of the association, explore cooperation measures for sustainable public transportation development, and strengthen its global network.
The International Association of Public Transport (UITP), established in 1885, is the world's largest organization in the transportation sector, with participation from over 1,700 institutions in more than 100 countries, serving as a mediator for public transportation development.
Kim Seong-ryeol, Senior Director of Seoul Metro, said, “I am pleased to share Seoul Metro’s efforts and achievements as a representative transportation company of Seoul with key transportation officials worldwide,” adding, “We will continue to unite voices for sustainable public transportation development through exchanges with global organizations.”
