MZ Solution Acquires 2 AI Fire Suppression Technology Patents... Targeting Fire-Vulnerable Facilities Such as ESS and Data Centers
MGN Solution is advancing its AI (artificial intelligence)-based fire suppression system and is set to actively enter the market.
On the 4th, MGN Solution announced that it has completed the registration of two patents for an "AI fire suppression system based on cross-verification of heterogeneous video data" and a "fire tracking and extinguishing control method."
Through these patents, various video data collected from multiple video acquisition devices (CCTV, thermal cameras, etc.) of different models can be analyzed individually. It also enables the designation of fire size grades, tracking of flame colors and fire progression, thereby suggesting more appropriate extinguishing methods and responses.
The company expects this to significantly improve the accuracy of fire analysis and dramatically enhance the precision of fire suppression in various situations.
Previously, MGN Solution commercialized the AI fire suppression system for the first time in Korea through its subsidiary, Hyundai Infracore, and is expanding it into AI-based major disaster prevention solutions.
A company representative explained, "With the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the development of the AI industry, facilities such as data centers and ESS (Energy Storage Systems), which must be designed with safety as the top priority to prepare for fires and disasters, are rapidly increasing. Especially, domestic data centers are vulnerable to fires and mainly use lithium batteries that pose a risk of thermal runaway, making fire prevention the most critical."
According to the company, past data center fires have caused nationwide communication service disruptions, highlighting firefighting as an important design factor. It was also noted that one of the reasons citizens oppose the construction of data centers is concerns over excessive power consumption and electromagnetic waves and fire risks caused by the use of high-voltage power lines.
The company representative added, "Recently, various AI fire detection and suppression systems are being actively introduced, led by the government and local governments. Our system has already been adopted at resource circulation centers in Gangseo-gu and Eunpyeong-gu, and we plan to continuously advance it through technology development and patents."
