On the 3rd (local time), POSCO labor and management held a handover ceremony at the Jargalant Regional Development Education Center in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to donate old uniforms to low-income herding households in Mongolia.
Among the old uniforms, 10,000 sets will be used as work clothes for workers in low-income herding households in Mongolia, and 20,000 sets were donated to a vocational training sewing center in Madagascar. 60,000 sets are scheduled to be sent to job-creating sewing centers in the Philippines, Nepal, and Ethiopia that help low-income women achieve self-reliance.
This donation was made in collaboration with Global Sharing Movement (NGO), which is conducting educational projects targeting low-income herding households in Mongolia.
In February, POSCO introduced new uniforms emphasizing safety according to global standards, and announced that the existing sky-blue uniforms would be repurposed to support vulnerable groups overseas, exploring new ways to utilize them.
Ybonseok, the representative of the POSCO Labor-Management Council’s company-wide worker committee, said, "We consider it meaningful to donate POSCO uniforms overseas and plan to actively participate in meaningful activities in the future."
