Jeonnam Province Appoints Kim Ok-kyung as New Director of Agricultural Museum
Jeonnam Province announced on the 3rd that it has appointed Kim Ok-kyung as the new director of the Agricultural Museum. She is the first female director in the history of the Agricultural Museum, with a term of two years until June 2, 2026.
Director Kim Ok-kyung worked as a journalist for 23 years at major media outlets in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, including the Mudeung Ilbo.
She majored in folklore studies in graduate school and has demonstrated high expertise in history, culture, and the arts through numerous writings on topics such as Namdo folklore, making her a well-qualified candidate.

Director Kim said, “I will create content that allows everyone to easily understand and enjoy agriculture, which is the seed of our life and culture,” adding, “In response to the rapidly changing era of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, I will strive to transform the Jeonnam Agricultural Museum into a ‘global open museum’ that engages with the residents of Jeonnam.”
