"Meet Masterpieces from Overseas"… Hyundai Department Store Presents '800 Years of Western Art' Exhibition

Hyundai Department Store is partnering with the gallery 'Robilant+Voena,' renowned for having one of the world's largest collections, to hold an exhibition covering art from the 14th century to contemporary art.
Hyundai Department Store announced on the 3rd that it will hold '800 Years of European Arts_From Gothic To Contemporary' at the complex cultural space 'ALT.1' on the 6th floor of The Hyundai Seoul from the 5th until September 18th.
This exhibition is held in collaboration with the Robilant+Voena gallery. Visitors can view representative works of Western art from the 1300s to the 2000s, making it the first exhibition in Korea to showcase symbolically significant works spanning 800 years all at once.
The exhibition introduces over 70 representative works sourced from 10 countries. The total value of the exhibited works, which span 17 genres including tempera paintings?created by combining egg yolk and pigments?marble sculptures, sculptures, and paintings, amounts to 130 billion KRW.
The exhibition space is organized according to the characteristics of each era. Visitors can see masterpieces by renowned artists whose works are held in collections of major national museums abroad, including Francesco Granacci, Artemisia Gentileschi, Edgar Degas, Marc Chagall, and Damien Hirst.
To celebrate ALT.1 recently surpassing one million paid visitors, Hyundai Department Store is offering additional benefits such as a 40% discount on admission tickets. Additionally, docent tours are available on weekdays at 2 PM and 4 PM.
