US-ROK Deputy Foreign Ministers' Meeting "Condemning North Korea's Hostile Remarks, Actions, and Human Rights Abuses"
South Korea and the United States held a diplomatic deputy ministerial consultation in the U.S. to discuss response measures to threats such as North Korea's recent ballistic missile launches.
According to the U.S. Department of State on the 31st (local time), Kim Hong-kyun, First Vice Foreign Minister of South Korea, and Kurt Campbell, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, held talks in Washington D.C. and condemned North Korea's hostile rhetoric and actions, as well as ongoing human rights abuses.
Vice Minister Kim and Deputy Secretary Campbell also emphasized the important role of the ROK-U.S. alliance in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and the world, and pointed out the importance of maintaining strong trilateral relations among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan.
They also discussed ways to support Ukraine, which has been at war for over two years due to Russia's invasion, and shared views on China.
