Supreme Court Grants Suspension of Execution for Abolition of Chungnam Student Human Rights Ordinance Request
Effective Until Final Judgment Is Issued
On the 30th, the Supreme Court accepted the Chungnam Office of Education's request for a suspension of execution regarding the ordinance to repeal the Chungnam Student Human Rights Ordinance.
Accordingly, the effect of the Chungnam Student Human Rights Ordinance will remain in force until the Supreme Court's final ruling is made.
Previously, the Chungnam Student Human Rights Ordinance was repealed and reinstated multiple times, and was finally repealed in April.
In response, the Chungnam Office of Education submitted a petition to the Supreme Court on the 13th, claiming that the repeal ordinance reapproved by the Chungnam Provincial Council violates the Constitution and higher laws. Along with this, they also filed a request for suspension of execution to prevent confusion and damage to the student human rights protection system.
