Prosecutors Detain and Indict Medical Student for 'Girlfriend Murder'
A medical student who stabbed and killed his girlfriend with a weapon on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seoul has been brought to trial.

View original imageThe Criminal Division 3 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jo Seok-gyu) indicted Choi (25) on the 30th on charges of murder.
Choi is accused of taking his girlfriend, Ms. A, to the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station on the 6th of this month and stabbing her in the neck and face with a prepared weapon, causing her death.
It was investigated that Choi, who had been dating Ms. A, a middle school classmate, had prepared the weapon in advance and committed the crime after conflicts arose due to issues such as their breakup.

The prosecution stated that psychological analysis of Choi showed a high risk of recidivism for violent crimes, but he did not meet the criteria in the psychopathy diagnostic test.
