Jangseong-gun Operates 'Forest Healing Program' for Dementia Patients and Families
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, operated a forest healing program for dementia patients and their families on the 28th.
According to the county on the 29th, this program, conducted in collaboration with the National Jangseong Forest Center, was designed to relieve stress and promote emotional exchange for dementia patients and their families.
Participants experienced forest therapy, aroma therapy, making cypress scent pouches, and natural dyeing with a forest healing instructor.

‘Therapy’ refers to treatment or remedy, and these activities help stabilize the mind and body and restore a healthy mind through forest experiences and scents (aroma).
A county official said, “It was a time to comfort dementia patients and their families and warmly embrace each other,” adding, “We plan to continue operating forest healing programs quarterly to prevent social isolation of dementia patients and reduce psychological burdens.”
Meanwhile, the county operates various support programs such as the ‘Heuarim Dementia Family Classroom,’ which provides care information to families of dementia patients, and self-help groups.
