Hwaseong-si, First Supplementary Budget Confirmed at 3.4071 Trillion Won
City Council Resolution... 222.1 Billion KRW Increase Compared to Original Budget
Includes Jebudo Access Road Repairs and Child Protection Zone Improvements
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that the first supplementary budget for this year was finalized at 3.4071 trillion won during the city council's extraordinary session held on the 28th. This amount is 222.1 billion won more than the original budget.
The city explained that in the first supplementary budget of the year, it prioritized projects that have a significant effect on improving citizens' welfare while strengthening the soundness of budget and financial management amid difficult economic conditions such as high inflation. In particular, the city included in the supplementary budget lifestyle-oriented projects proposed by citizens during the 'Dialogue with Citizens' held in January, such as ▲support for vulnerable urban gas supply (500 million won) ▲repair of the Jebudo access road (3 billion won) ▲maintenance of the pedestrian paths on Giannam-ro and Dongtan Park-ro (500 million won).
Regarding the supplementary budget for citizen safety, the city allocated funds for ▲road maintenance including pothole repairs (7.2 billion won) ▲installation of vehicle blocking facilities in underpasses (1.3 billion won) ▲improvement projects for child protection zones (3.6 billion won) ▲citizen safety insurance and support for autonomous crime prevention activities (1.1 billion won).
To expand the public transportation network, the city budgeted ▲public management system for city buses (3.3 billion won) ▲quasi-public operation system for metropolitan buses (2.7 billion won) ▲support for increasing metropolitan buses (1.6 billion won). To enhance citizens' mobility rights, funds were allocated for ▲road widening between Sugi and Buncheon (1.65 billion won) ▲road widening on Provincial Road No. 31 (3.3 billion won) ▲road widening between Dangha and Oil (8.4 billion won).
In the welfare sector, the focus was on minimizing welfare blind spots and responding to the low birthrate era with allocations for ▲family care allowance support (3 billion won) ▲additional support for 5-year-olds in the Nuri curriculum (1.3 billion won).
