Cheonan City Launches Program to Train Young City Bus Drivers
One-Stop Support from Obtaining Large Vehicle Licenses and Bus Driver Certifications to Employment Connection
Cheonan City in Chungnam has signed a business agreement with three local city bus companies?Boseong Passenger Automobile Co., Ltd., Saman Passenger Co., Ltd., and Sae Cheonan Transportation Co., Ltd.?to foster young talent for city bus drivers.
According to the agreement, the city will provide tailored education and employment connections to participating youth through the "Young City Bus Driver Talent Development Program" and will link outstanding young talent to the three local city bus companies that are experiencing difficulties in workforce supply.
The Young City Bus Driver Talent Development Program offers a one-stop service for youth, from obtaining a large vehicle license and bus driver qualification certificate to employment connections, with all training costs fully supported by Cheonan City.
The program targets youth aged 20 to 39, the eligible age for obtaining a bus driver's license, and will begin recruiting applicants from next month.

Mayor Park Sang-don stated, "We believe the Young City Bus Driver Talent Development Program will help resolve the chronic shortage of bus driver manpower," adding, "We hope this will enhance the convenience of public transportation for Cheonan citizens."
