Geumcheon-gu Operates 'Employee Rest Area' Oasis for Tired Staff
Operation of Male and Female Employee Rest Areas in District Office Building with Heating and Cooling Facilities, Bedding, and Convenience Amenities
Last Year, Created Employee Lounge 'Lounge7' Utilizing Spare Space in the Office Building
Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that it has created a staff rest area within the district office building, operating 24 hours a day to improve the working environment.
The staff rest area was established by utilizing unused space within the building in response to the emphasized need for rest to enhance work concentration and provide better administrative services.
While the district had previously operated a women's rest room, it relocated the rest room due to workspace expansion and installed separate rest areas for male and female employees to resolve gender inequality.
For comfortable rest, the area is equipped with heating and cooling facilities, bedding, and convenience facilities such as electric reclining chairs. Plans are in place to expand convenience facilities, including medical devices, in the future.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, explained the purpose of establishing the health room, saying, "Proper rest is the driving force behind improved work efficiency," and added, "We expect that the positive energy of public officials recharged while resting here will lead to improved administrative services for residents."
The district has continuously paid attention to improving the working environment for employees. In August of last year, it created the staff rest area 'Lounge 7' by utilizing leftover space on the 7th floor of the building. It has received positive responses by providing massage chairs, coffee machines, tea tables, sofas, and other amenities for employees to chat and relax.
