Gembax Link Announces Arrival of Pony Autonomous Vehicle in Korea... Preparing for Full-Scale Autonomous Driving Operation
GemVax Link announced on the 28th that vehicles for autonomous driving modification have arrived in Korea. The arrived vehicles are four Hyundai Kona EVs developed for autonomous driving, which will be modified and assembled in Korea to enable autonomous driving operation.
The arrived vehicles will be transported to the Operation Hub located in Bundang-gu for the modification process. According to GemVax Link, the hub can accommodate about 20 autonomous vehicles, the interior construction is nearing completion, and it has an optimal environment for the operation, modification, and maintenance of autonomous vehicles.
Starting with the four vehicles that arrived this time, additional vehicles and autonomous driving modules are expected to be transported continuously. Currently, GemVax Link is meticulously preparing all necessary arrangements for the pilot operation of autonomous vehicles. Vehicles equipped with autonomous driving modules will soon take the driving license test and obtain pilot operation permission through consultations with local governments.
