Two Teenagers Given Suspended Prison Sentences for Harassing Classmates
Court: "Considering the victim's agreement and the wish not to punish"
Teenagers who committed cruel acts against their classmates were sentenced to prison with a suspended sentence.
On the 27th, the 1st Criminal Division of the Cheonan Branch of Daejeon District Court (Presiding Judge Jeon Gyeong-ho) sentenced two individuals, including A (17), who were indicted without detention on charges of extortion, to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year suspension.
The court dismissed the charges related to some assaults and incitement to assault, which fall under offenses requiring the victim's complaint, as the victim submitted a letter of no punishment against them.
A and others repeatedly assaulted the victim student since 2022.
In particular, A filmed the victim student naked, tied their limbs, and assaulted them by putting a plastic bag over their head.
