A foreign international student was found dead after riding a bicycle naked around a university campus.
On the 24th, police and fire authorities announced that the day before, around 5:45 PM, a 20-something African international student, Mr. A, was found dead near a dormitory at a university in Gwangju. Mr. A had recently been riding a bicycle naked around the university campus and was booked and investigated by the police on charges of public indecency.
Photos released at the time show a Black man riding a bicycle naked while roaming the campus. A man passing by on a scooter stopped in surprise and looked at Mr. A. During the police investigation, Mr. A explained that he had been under severe stress related to his studies recently. It was also confirmed during the investigation that Mr. A had a history of depression treatment.
The police stated that there is no suspicion of a crime surrounding Mr. A’s death and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. They also announced that since Mr. A has passed away, the ongoing case will be closed as 'no prosecution.'
