Kim Dong-yeon Proposes Active Promotion of Dangjin~Gwangmyeong Expressway to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport
On the 23rd, Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, delivered a letter to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport urging the active promotion of the ‘Dangjin~Gwangmyeong Expressway’ private investment project.
In the letter, Governor Kim emphasized, "The Dangjin~Gwangmyeong Expressway is a core project of the Gyeonggi-Chungnam Bay Valley win-win cooperation basic plan," adding, "It will be an important route to resolve the chronic traffic congestion on the Seohaean Expressway and lead the success of win-win cooperation."
The Dangjin~Gwangmyeong Expressway private investment project connects Songak-eup, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and Gahak-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, spanning 61.4 km. Due to the saturated traffic volume on the Seohaedaegyo Bridge connecting Gyeonggi Province and Chungnam, which causes frequent traffic congestion, this project is gaining attention as a new alternative route.
Accordingly, it has been included not only in the Gyeonggi-Chungnam Bay Valley win-win cooperation basic plan but also in Gyeonggi Province’s western SOC large-scale development policy.
