Chungnam Bus Labor-Management Wage Negotiation Reached...Wages Increased by 4.54%
Agreement Reached Ahead of Labor Commission Mediation Application After 8th Negotiation Session
The labor and management of Chungnam city and intercity buses reached a wage agreement after eight rounds of negotiations.
According to the province on the 23rd, the Chungnam city and intercity bus union and the Chungnam Bus Transportation Business Association, which had been negotiating since March, concluded their talks the day before, just before applying for mediation at the Labor Relations Commission.
The union demanded a 12.05% wage increase, citing recent inflation rates, but the management argued that the demand was excessive considering the national average increase of 4.48%, resulting in difficulties in narrowing the gap.
After eight rounds of negotiations, labor and management finally agreed on a 4.54% wage increase for drivers and a 3.03% increase in accident-free bonuses.
