Socar Launches Carsharing Service for International Students Residing in Korea
Socar announced on the 23rd that it will open Socar's car-sharing service for foreign international students residing in Korea.
Socar is collaborating with the foreign international student platform HigherDiversity to operate the car-sharing service for international students in Korea. To use Socar's service, the user's own ▲driver's license ▲mobile phone and number ▲payment method must all match. To facilitate this, HigherDiversity handles complex processes such as exchanging foreign licenses, changing mobile phone ownership, and opening domestic bank accounts and check cards, helping international students in Korea meet the eligibility requirements to rent Socar vehicles.
For international students in Korea, only the "Bureum" service, which allows renting and returning vehicles at desired locations, is available, rather than the "round-trip" type of Socar usage where vehicles are rented and returned at Socar zones. Regarding vehicle damage waiver products, the "Zero" product, which fully exempts the deductible in case of an accident and also provides driver insurance coverage, is applied as the default.
