In the second half of last year, Hyundai supplied 30 Xcient hydrogen fuel cell trucks to U.S. truck operators through the California port eco-friendly truck introduction project (NorCAL ZERO). This is the largest single supply to a North American transportation company. It is significant in that it greatly contributes to the decarbonization of the Oakland and Richmond ports by replacing existing high-emission pollutant trucks.
Additionally, Hyundai is collaborating with Glovis America to introduce the eco-friendly logistics system HTWO Logistics Solution at the 'Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America (HMGMA)' in Georgia. Specifically, Hyundai plans to supply Xcient hydrogen fuel cell trucks to establish a hydrogen commercial value chain system specialized in transporting parts and finished vehicles.
At this event, Hyundai revealed the facelifted Xcient hydrogen fuel cell truck concept model for the first time through digital video. The facelifted Xcient hydrogen fuel cell truck model will apply numerous advanced driving technologies that assist driving, such as collision avoidance assist, lane departure warning, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), based mainly on North American customer driving feedback collected over about one year since its launch last year.
