Hanwha Appoints Former Ministry of Industry Director Ju Young-jun as President of US Investment Firm
Hanwha Group has appointed Joo Young-joon, former Director General of Industrial Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as the president of its U.S. investment company.
According to Hanwha Group on the 20th, Joo Young-joon began his role this month as President of Business Strategy at Hanwha Futureproof. He is responsible for investment and business operation strategies within the company.
Joo is a graduate of the 37th Administrative Examination and has held positions such as Director of the Product Safety Policy Bureau at the National Institute of Technology and Standards, Head of the New Energy Industry Policy Division, Counselor at the Embassy in China, Director of the Energy Resources Office, and Director General of Industrial Policy. He retired at the end of last year.
Hanwha Futureproof is an investment company established by Hanwha Solutions and Hanwha Aerospace, key affiliates of the group, each investing 2.5 billion KRW in March last year. It is headquartered in New York State, USA. In May of the same year, they further increased their investment by 655.7 billion KRW and 1.3114 trillion KRW respectively.
