This agreement was prepared to utilize LH public housing as accommodation for athletes from 150 countries participating in the Summer World University Games to be held in the Chungcheong region in August 2027. The signing ceremony was attended by Kang Chang-hee, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and Lee Han-jun, President of LH.
The agreement includes △ mutual cooperation for providing approximately 2,300 public housing units and sites in Sejong City’s 5-1 and 6-3 residential districts △ formation and operation of a working-level council to implement the agreement △ promotion of detailed agreements following the basic agreement.
According to the agreement, LH will provide about 2,300 public rental housing units (accommodating approximately 10,000 people) scheduled for supply in Sejong City in 2027 as athlete accommodations, and the Organizing Committee plans to support consultations with related organizations for smooth project implementation and reimburse incurred costs.
LH has previously supported event operations by utilizing LH-owned housing during the 2012 Yeosu Expo and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
Kang Chang-hee, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said, “LH’s plan for the construction and utilization of the athletes' village for this event will lay the foundation for the successful hosting of the games and is expected to play a significant role in enhancing the status of national sports capabilities. We will actively collaborate and strive with LH in promoting the athletes' village construction.”
