Gimhae Small Business Hits Jackpot ... Marinated Ribs and Fresh Strawberries Sold Out on TV Home Shopping!
Total Sales Reach Approximately 147 Million Won
The Gimhae Biomedical Industry Promotion Agency in Gyeongnam has achieved a sell-out record on this year’s first TV home shopping broadcast with products from local small business owners, whose market expansion and promotion were supported by the agency.
The agency supported local small businesses in increasing product awareness and boosting sales by assisting them in expanding online sales channels and entering domestic and international TV home shopping markets.
After a product consultation event in February, six companies were selected. Among them, Mulmalgeun Gogi Farm Agricultural Corporation’s “100% Domestic Boneless Marinated Short Rib” and Honey Farm Agricultural Corporation’s “Fresh Raspberry” were sold through NS Home Shopping on the 14th of this month.

The marinated short rib sold out within 36 minutes of the broadcast, achieving sales of approximately 103 million KRW, while Gimhae’s representative specialty, the fresh raspberry, recorded sales of 44 million KRW.
A representative from Mulmalgeun Gogi Farm said, “Our company has faced continuous difficulties since COVID-19, but thanks to the low commission fees and broadcast support, we were able to challenge ourselves to enter home shopping without burden. Learning about the overall home shopping operation process, from product planning to delivery, was especially helpful. We sincerely thank the agency for their wholehearted support.”
Kim Jonguk, Director of the agency, stated, “This broadcast has provided an opportunity for excellent products from small and medium-sized enterprises in Gimhae to become widely known nationwide. In addition to supporting entry into home shopping, we will actively promote practical projects to secure diverse distribution channels, which is the biggest concern for SMEs.”
The agency is also helping Gimhae’s small and medium-sized enterprises enter domestic and overseas home shopping channels by collaborating with Lotte Home Shopping, Gongyeong Home Shopping, and Home&Shopping in addition to NS Home Shopping. In June, Misodam Food’s “Baekeok Mubbye Dakbal” product is scheduled to be sold on Home&Shopping.
