Gwangju Nostalgic Chungjang Festival Joins Forces with Powerful Daegu Festival
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City recently signed a business agreement with the Chungjang Festival Committee (Chairman Jo Sang-yeol) and the Daegu Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations (President Lee Chang-hwan) for the mutual development of their representative city festivals, 'Gwangju Nostalgic Chungjang Festival' and 'Powerful Daegu Festival.'
The 'Gwangju Nostalgic Chungjang Festival' is Korea's premier playground held on Geumnam-ro and Chungjang-ro, created and participated in directly by Gwangju citizens. The 'Powerful Daegu Festival,' organized by the Daegu Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations, is also well-known as a downtown street festival held around Daegu Gukchae Bosang-ro.
This agreement was made on-site at the 'Powerful Daegu Festival' in Daegu, with festival officials including Kim Tae-wook, the general director of the Chungjang Festival, participating. They agreed to cooperate on the development of both festivals, information sharing, and promotional activities.
In particular, the Chungjang Festival Committee and the Daegu Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations decided to use this agreement as an opportunity to share key information and cases regarding the 'Parade,' a common flagship program of both festivals, and to launch active promotional activities. Additionally, they promoted participation in the 'National Open Fire Art Parade' of the 'Gwangju Nostalgic Chungjang Festival,' which is recruiting participants until June 9, targeting local parade participants.
Chairman Jo Sang-yeol said, "Through this business agreement, we have raised the status of Dong-gu, Gwangju as a festival city and established a network for the mutual growth of both festivals. We will continue to expand networks with other festivals in the future."
