[One Day Walk] Where Three Waterways Meet... 'Yeoju 36 Course'
Dori Village Hall~Hyeonsu 1-ri Bus Stop
Section Distance 10.6 km...Difficulty 'Hard'
The Gyeonggi Dullegil ‘Yeoju Course 36’ stretches from Dori Village Hall to Semulmeori Wish Tower, Seonsun Rock, Samhapgyo Bridge, and ends at Hyunsu 1-ri Bus Stop. The section is 10.6 km long, with an estimated duration of 5 hours. The difficulty level is classified as ‘hard’.
At Dori Village Hall, you can stamp the starting stamp featuring the Danyang Aster. The Danyang Aster is said to have been first discovered in Danyang, Chungbuk, but it is currently only observed in some parts of the Yeoju area. It is a biennial plant native to Korea and is designated as a Class II endangered wild species by the Ministry of Environment. It is also known as ‘Solip Chrysanthemum’.
Walking from Dori Village Hall toward the riverside, you can see the Semulmeori Wish Tower. Semulmeori is where the Namhan River, Seom River, and Cheongmi Stream meet. Next, you will pass by the ‘Fool’s Forest Meditation Farm.’ After walking along the maintained riverside path, you enter the Junggunibong Forest. Walking about 1 km along a winding mountain trail, you pass Seonsun Rock and face the estuary of Cheongmi Stream. This area is the habitat of the Danyang Aster. Look for the pale purple flowers.
Cheongmi Stream is one of the tributaries of the Namhan River. It is 64 km long. Its source is the eastern valley of Munsu Peak in Saam-ri, Wonsam-myeon, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. The Cheongmi Stream basin has well-developed wide plains that produce high-quality rice. At the estuary of Cheongmi Stream, there is the triangular delta island called Dori Island.
As you walk, you will see Samhapgyo Bridge. Samhap-ri is where the Namhan River, Seom River, and Cheongmi Stream converge, and it is also the meeting point of three provinces: Wonju-si in Gangwon-do, Chungju-si in Chungbuk, and Yeoju-si in Gyeonggi-do. It is said that the name originated from this fact.

At Hyunsu 1-ri Bus Stop, a finishing stamp is prepared. The stamp features ‘Cheonnyeon Doja Yeoju’ (Millennium Porcelain Yeoju). Yeoju has a long history of ceramics, with kiln sites from the Goryeo celadon period and pottery workshops from the Joseon Dynasty. Hundreds of ceramic studios are still in operation, and near Silleuksa Temple, at Yeoju Ceramic World, you can enjoy exhibitions and hands-on experiences related to ceramics.
