Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it has taken proactive measures to prevent jeonse fraud and provide prompt and thorough relief support for victims of jeonse fraud.
The city operates a Safe Contract Consultation Desk on the first floor of the City Hall Civil Service Office (☏ 749-5870), where residents can receive detailed guidance on precautions to take when signing jeonse contracts and methods to prevent fraud.
In addition, tenants who have subscribed to the Jeonse Deposit Return Guarantee Insurance will receive support of up to 300,000 KRW for the paid guarantee fee.
The city provides free legal consultations for victims of jeonse fraud through the Jeollanam-do legal advisor and Suncheon City Legal Home Doctor. Furthermore, in cooperation with local judicial scriveners, the city offers one-stop support for auction and public sale agency services. Emergency welfare support (living expenses, housing costs) is also provided for confirmed victims.
Moreover, the city plans to conduct a comprehensive survey on jeonse fraud victims for post-management and monitoring purposes, actively identifying and proposing improvements to government policies and systems.
