Daegu Dalseo-gu Appoints Pomeranian 'Dalmeonggu' as Promotion Dog... Active as Samsung Lions Mall Model
Dalseo-gu, Daegu (District Mayor Lee Taehun) has actively taken steps to create a pet-friendly city by appointing the Pomeranian "Dalmonggu" as the official promotional dog of Dalseo-gu at the Dalseo-gu Dog Playground.
To foster a pet-friendly urban environment, Dalseo-gu launched Daegu's first dog-only playground last February and has now designated the Pomeranian "Dalmonggu" as its official promotional dog. The name "Dalmonggu" was selected through a public contest. It combines "Dal" from Dalseo-gu, "Mong," an onomatopoeia for a dog's bark, and "Gu," a Sino-Korean word for dog, symbolizing a representative pet dog of Dalseo-gu.
Lee Taehun, mayor of Dalseo District Office in Daegu, is holding 'Dalmyeonggu,' appointed as the promotional dog of Dalseo District, for a commemorative photo.

As the promotional dog, Dalmonggu will help widely promote Dalseo-gu’s various pet policies and programs.
With the increasing population of pet owners, Dalseo-gu has introduced a range of policies to enhance the welfare of both pets and their owners. The promotional dog Dalmonggu is expected to play an important role in fostering a positive perception of companion animals within the local community and in spreading the image of a healthy and happy Dalseo-gu where people and pets coexist.
Lee Taehun, Mayor of Dalseo-gu, stated, “In response to the growing trend of pets becoming family members, we plan to continuously develop spaces and programs that all pet families can enjoy,” adding, “Together with Dalmonggu, we will actively promote Dalseo-gu’s pet policies to create a district where all residents and their pets can be happy.”
