Multi-Year Fiscal Projects from 2024 to 2026
Daegu Cyber University has been selected for the "2nd Phase Remote University Education Innovation Support Project (Support for Activation of Remote Education for the Underprivileged)."
This project, hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), aims to expand the benefits of remote education for adult learners by developing customized remote education models for educationally marginalized learners using the infrastructure of cyber universities.
The university submitted a business plan on the 19th of last month to establish a cyber lifelong learning environment platform and provide services to ensure equal educational opportunities for people with moderate physical disabilities, brain lesions, visual, and hearing impairments. Daegu Cyber University was selected through a document review and presentation evaluation by the selection evaluation committee. Based on this selection, the agreement is expected to be signed in May.
Through this project, a remote education activation model for the underprivileged will be developed by 2026, and the university will receive a total of 1.05 billion KRW in financial support over three years, with an average of 350 million KRW per year.
Daegu Cyber University aims to develop, operate, and disseminate an innovative remote education model for the underprivileged through this project. The goal is to expand learning opportunities for educationally marginalized groups, ultimately enabling social achievements such as further education, employment, and entrepreneurship in the long term.
Park Sanghee, Director of Planning at Daegu Cyber University, stated, "Daegu Cyber University will take the lead so that everyone can equally enjoy the right to education without educationally marginalized groups," and added, "We will further accelerate the project based on the know-how accumulated through our remote education platform and high-quality educational content."
Daegu Cyber University was previously selected for the 2021 DNA Convergence Short-term Curriculum Development Project promoted by the Korea Education and Research Information Service.
