On the 11th, Woowa Brothers held the '2024 Woowa Boss Children Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony' at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, inviting scholarship recipients and families of restaurant owners to present the scholarship certificates.
The 'Woowa Boss Children Scholarship' is a scholarship program established in 2022 by former chairman Kim Bong-jin, the founder of Woowa Brothers, who set aside 10 billion KRW for restaurant owners, combined with annual company donations. To date, a total of 949 recipients have received scholarships and mentoring worth 5.6 billion KRW.
This program is open to any children of restaurant owners who have operated a restaurant business for more than one year, even if they are not Baemin registered merchants. Selected university students can receive up to 6 million KRW, and high school students up to 3 million KRW in scholarships.
Song Yuri, a university student and representative of the scholarship recipients who participated in the ceremony, said, "I will use the scholarship to further study industrial manpower development or education." Kim In-chan, a high school student who received the scholarship certificate, also said, "I am very interested in IT, and I will use the scholarship well to realize my dreams."
At the ceremony, along with the scholarship certificate presentation, a mentoring talk concert involving Woowa Brothers employees and executives, as well as a family photo event, were held. Woowa Brothers also stated that they will support academic achievement and growth by providing capacity-building programs to applicants who were not selected as scholarship recipients this time.
