Yoon Appoints Kim Jong-cheol, Presidential Security Chief, as New Military Manpower Administration Commissioner
Kim Jong-cheol, newly appointed Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration and former Deputy Director of the Presidential Security Service, is responding to lawmakers' questions at the full meeting of the Steering Committee held at the National Assembly on November 10 last year.

President Yoon Suk-yeol has decided to appoint Kim Jong-cheol, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Security Service, as the new Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration.
The Blue House announced on the 12th that President Yoon approved the appointment of Deputy Chief Kim as the Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, effective on the 13th.
Deputy Chief Kim was born in 1965 and graduated from Daegu Gyesong High School before attending the Korea Military Academy (44th class). He was promoted to brigadier general in October 2014 during the Park Geun-hye administration and subsequently served as commander of the 7th Infantry Division, director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Operations Planning Department, and president of the Korea National Defense University.
Since May 2022, at the start of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, he has served as the Deputy Chief of the Presidential Security Service, assisting the Chief of the Presidential Security Service.
The Blue House described Deputy Chief Kim as a "defense administration and military expert who served in the military for over 30 years, holding positions such as director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Operations Planning Department and president of the Korea National Defense University."
