Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gijae) announced on the 12th that it received the highest grade, "SA," in the "2024 Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads' Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters conducted an evaluation from February targeting the pledges of heads of basic local governments nationwide as of the end of December 2023, assessing five areas: ▲pledge implementation completion ▲achievement of pledge goals ▲resident communication ▲web communication ▲pledge consistency.
Yangcheon-gu is promoting a total of 86 pledges centered on the five major goals of the 8th elected term: ▲clean city ▲healthy city ▲safe city ▲warm city ▲happy educational city, and has completed 35 pledge projects, accounting for 40.7%. In particular, the overall financial securing rate for pledge implementation was 37.6%, which is higher than the national average.
Since the launch of the 8th elected term, Yangcheon-gu has focused all its capabilities on solving long-standing issues desired by residents, achieving many results in various fields. First, the Mokdong Apartment reconstruction project, which had been at a standstill, passed the safety inspection and got on track, and redevelopment projects such as Moa Town and station area development are actively progressing, accelerating the creation of a clean city.
Especially, since 51.3% of all households in the Gimpo Airport Noise Countermeasure Area are Yangcheon-gu residents, the pledge to "expand practical support for airport noise damage" stood out for residents suffering from airport noise. Innovative self-help measures were prepared to promote resident-experienced support policies, including ▲the nation's first local tax reduction on property tax in airport noise countermeasure areas implemented by a basic local government ▲construction of a district-run comprehensive airport noise countermeasure support center ▲support for precise hearing tests and hearing aid purchase costs.
