"Parasols Blown Away by Strong Winds"... Consecutive Damages in Southern Gyeonggi
On the 11th, strong winds blew across the southern region of Gyeonggi Province, causing parasols to fly away and injure people, resulting in a series of damages.
At around 11 a.m. that day, a man in his 30s, Mr. A, and a 4-year-old boy were hit by a large parasol pole that was blown away by the wind at a shopping mall in Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, sustaining bruises on their faces and other areas.
Earlier, at around 9:25 a.m., a street tree approximately 11 meters tall fell onto a taxi parked at a taxi stand on a road in Sinheung-dong, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si.
There were no casualties. It is presumed that the tree, weakened at the roots, was toppled by the strong wind.
Also, in Wolpi-dong, Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si, at around 11:50 a.m., a parasol was blown away by the strong wind and got caught on utility pole wires. Fire authorities who responded to the report carried out removal operations on the structure.
On that day, a strong wind advisory was issued for Gimpo, Siheung, Ansan, Hwaseong, and Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi Province.
