Na Kyung-won on the 'Han Dong-hoon Check' Rumor: "Baseless"
Yeo Party Convention 'Late June to Early July' → 'Late July to Early August' Likely
"Are You Idle?" Criticism Due to Han Dong-hoon
"If Han Appears, Na Kyung-won Will Appear" Claim Denied by Na
As the possibility of the People Power Party's national convention being postponed from the originally planned 'late June to early July' increases, speculation about the appointment of former Emergency Response Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon is emerging both inside and outside the party. As rumors surfaced that elected representative Na Kyung-won is trying to check Han's influence, Na's camp denied the claims as "groundless," while discussions on the timing of the convention and rule revisions are expected to intensify.
Hwang Woo-yeo, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, said in a CBS radio interview on the 10th, "It is difficult to set a specific time for the convention right now," adding, "The floor leader election was also delayed by about a week." He continued, "We discussed deciding the policy committee chairman today, but that might also be difficult."

Furthermore, Hwang expressed a cautious stance on changing the convention rules to a method where 100% of party members vote, as it requires amending the party's constitution and regulations. Therefore, both inside and outside the party view a 'late July to early August' convention as the most likely scenario.
Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo criticized the delay in the convention timing, calling it "quite a spectacle" and asking, "Are they really that idle?" Through his Facebook, he pointed out, "The current Emergency Response Committee Chairman, who is merely the convention management chairman, should just promptly hold the convention, hand over the party leadership, and leave. Instead, he is appointing new emergency committee members as if he were the party leader and trying to delay the convention."
The sensitive reactions regarding the timing of the convention stem from the growing momentum of speculation that former Chairman Han will run for the party leadership as time passes. Yoon Hee-seok, spokesperson for the People Power Party, predicted in a KBS radio interview, "I think the situation will inevitably change to one where he will run." Yoon added, "There are signature campaigns both online and offline asking Han to run in the convention. I don't think former Chairman Han can ignore the demands and expectations of his support base. The possibility of his candidacy is high."

On the 9th, Kim Kyu-wan, CBS editorial director, who appeared on CBS radio's 'Park Jae-hong's One Round Match,' said, "There was talk that if Han Dong-hoon runs, Na Kyung-won might step back. When I asked about it, I was told, 'If Han Dong-hoon runs, then I will run. That is certain.'" He added, "I heard directly from Representative Na that she hasn't decided whether to run or not, but she said, 'If Han Dong-hoon runs, then I will run at that time.'" He further explained, "Na Kyung-won's current situation is that she wants to run for party leader but cannot publicly express it. It seems she is undecided."

In response, Na's camp denied the claims as "groundless." Through a media statement, Na's camp stated, "The candidacy of any specific politician in the national convention is unrelated to Representative Na's future political moves."
