bhc Chicken has opened its second store since entering the Hong Kong market in 2018.
bhc Chicken announced on the 10th that it has opened its second Hong Kong branch, ‘bhc Plaza 2000’.
Hong Kong is a leading tourist city in Asia and a market where the mid- to long-term success of overseas businesses can be gauged beyond East and West. A bhc representative said, "‘bhc Plaza 2000’ is expected to play an important role in proving bhc Chicken’s global competitiveness."
bhc Plaza 2000 is located in the largest shopping district on Hong Kong Island, where famous shopping malls such as ‘Times Square’ are situated. This location is easily accessible not only to Hong Kong residents but also to mainland Chinese customers and tourists, with a high foot traffic expected to boost customer attraction. The store covers approximately 315㎡ (95 pyeong) and has a total of 106 seats. It operates in a dining style where customers can enjoy freshly cooked warm chicken upon visiting, and delivery service is also available.
The store interior reinterprets bhc Chicken’s signature yellow tone and bright, friendly image in a modern yet vintage style. Especially targeting the trendy 20s and 30s customer base, a photo zone featuring bhc Chicken’s own character ‘Ppurinkle’ has been set up, and QR codes placed throughout the store allow customers to interact with the brand and enjoy it via social media platforms like Instagram.
Reflecting the high local interest in K-food, the menu offers not only bhc Chicken’s signature chicken dishes such as ‘Ppurinkle’ but also various Korean dishes like tteokbokki and kimchi fried rice.
To celebrate the opening of the second Hong Kong store, bhc Chicken is hosting various events to provide customers with enjoyable experiences. First, bhc Chicken’s character ‘Ppurinkle’ will roam the streets to meet local customers and announce the opening. Additionally, there will be a lottery event where customers can win ‘bhc meal vouchers’ and ‘Ppurinkle’ merchandise, as well as an Instagrammable photo booth popular locally, called the bhc-exclusive life-cut booth. Furthermore, customers visiting bhc Plaza 2000 will receive various goods such as Ppurinkle keychains, cheese stick coupons, and stickers.

Meanwhile, bhc Chicken opened its first Hong Kong store in 2018 as a testbed for Southeast Asian expansion and has since opened three stores in Singapore, six in Malaysia, and two in Thailand through a master franchise agreement with local companies. The newly opened second Hong Kong store is the 12th store in Southeast Asia. bhc Chicken currently operates a total of 13 overseas stores in five countries, including the LA Farmers Market store in the United States.
