Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, visited the demolition site of the Metro Art Gallery at Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3 on the 9th and conducted the 11th CEO on-site inspection activity.
Seoul Metro decided to demolish the Metro Art Gallery to restore the architectural appearance of Gyeongbokgung Station, a Seoul Future Heritage site, preserve its cultural and artistic value, and provide an open space for citizens.
President Baekho thoroughly inspected the demolition and restoration construction sites, checked the safety management status of areas at risk of major accidents, and examined whether the construction caused any inconvenience to citizen traffic.
He also encouraged the on-site personnel and urged them to do their best to ensure that the construction is completed safely and meticulously.

President Baekho said, “Once the restoration work is completed next month, the cultural and artistic value of Gyeongbokgung Station as a Seoul Future Heritage will be re-evaluated, congestion within the station will be reduced, and citizens’ safety and convenience are expected to improve. We will prioritize safety to complete the construction so that we can show citizens the original appearance of Gyeongbokgung Station.”
