CEO Shin said, "To compete with countries like the United States, where global aerospace companies such as SpaceX are based, and China and Japan, which have pursued state-led development policies, it is necessary to build a space industry infrastructure where the government and private sector can create the best synergy."
To this end, CEO Shin presented key tasks including △ role-sharing between government and private sectors considering the characteristics of each field △ providing incentives for promising companies to enter △ continuous satellite projects to maintain infrastructure such as personnel, facilities, and equipment for related companies.
CEO Shin Ik-hyun stated, "LIG Nex1 will continue research and development and investment to develop satellite solutions that will open the K-space era following K-defense."
LIG Nex1 is participating in projects such as the multipurpose practical satellite 6 SAR (high-performance imaging radar) payload, the geostationary orbit public complex communication satellite (Chollian 3), the Korean Positioning System (KPS), and the microsatellite system project led by the Agency for Defense Development.
In particular, the microsatellite system is expected to play a significant role in strengthening national security response capabilities on the Korean Peninsula and surrounding waters by operating complementarily with existing military reconnaissance satellites.
