Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) has extended the "Infectious Disease Crisis Response Business Agreement" signed with nine medical institutions in the city for two years until May 12, 2026.
This agreement was signed on May 13, 2019, with the aim of actively responding to infectious disease crisis situations in the Busan area and protecting the health and safety of citizens through cooperation between the city and nine medical institutions in the city.
The nine medical institutions that signed the agreement are Busan National University Hospital, Dong-A University Hospital, Kosin University Gospel Hospital, Inje University Busan Paik Hospital, Busan Medical Center, Southeastern Radiation Medical Center, Daedong Hospital, Good Gang-an Hospital, and Busan Bumin Hospital.
With the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the participation of medical institutions based on the agreement became even more important.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ actively cooperating in screening and treating patients when infectious disease cases occur to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the community by operating screening clinics and isolation beds, and providing treatment and isolation care, and ▲ establishing a mutual communication system to continuously exchange information on infectious disease diagnosis and treatment.
This extension of the agreement was promoted as the expiration date of the agreement approached on May 12 this year, to continue actively responding to infectious disease crisis situations. The city secured the extension of the agreement with the consent of the nine medical institutions that signed the agreement.
Since the agreement was first signed in 2019, it was extended until May 12, 2024, through the first extension agreement in 2022.
