Gyeongho Kim, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, Visits Daycare Center for Storytelling Communication with Children
Kim Kyung-ho, the mayor of Gwangjin District, visited the Hangaram Public Daycare Center on the 3rd to read storybooks to the children and check if there were any inconveniences, spending time communicating with the future generation.
To entertain the 4- to 5-year-old children, he practiced for several days after a busy schedule to prepare.
On this day, he narrated the children's bestseller "My Dad is the Best" by Anthony Browne, using gestures to match the children's level and led conversations, creating an enjoyable time.
While unfolding the story, the phrase "Dad spaces out when he comes home" was mentioned, and worried that the children might not understand, he asked if they knew the meaning of "spaces out." One child raised a hand and said, "It means doing nothing and just staying still," which was somewhat surprising.
In celebration of Family Month in May, a calm communication time was held conveying the best image of dads seen through the eyes of children, emphasizing the importance of parental love within the family and children's respect for their parents.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "Seeing children who accurately understand difficult adult expressions reminded me of the saying that children grow up watching the backs of adults," and added, "I will do my best to lead a respectable and exemplary district administration so that the future protagonists can live safely and comfortably."
