According to the city, the meeting involved discussions on improving the environment around schools and commuting routes, as well as support for senior citizen jobs.
Regarding the request from Cheongdeok Middle School to relocate the advertising board at the back gate of the school, Mayor Lee responded, "Since the advertisement contains non-educational content, we will move the board to a suitable location once the existing contract ends."
In response to Hongcheon Middle School's request to improve the slope of the commuting route, Mayor Lee said, "It is difficult to reduce the slope, but we will install a canopy at the entrance section to help ensure pedestrian safety during winter." Regarding support for senior citizen jobs needed for lunch service at Seowon Middle School, he explained that additional placements are possible if the demand side relinquishes personnel.
Mayor Lee and Kim Hee-jung, Superintendent of Yongin Office of Education, also said they would seek improvement measures, including consultations with the police, regarding the proposal from Jukjeon Middle School about the composition of the 'Compulsory Education Management Committee.' This reflects the suggestion that each school should have a 'Compulsory Education Management Committee' to protect children subject to compulsory education who do not attend school, but securing essential members has been difficult.
Mayor Lee also instructed city officials to promptly take appropriate measures for areas requiring replacement of sidewalk blocks, cleaning, and environmental maintenance after inspecting the surroundings of all schools in the region that day.
