Household goods company Lock&Lock conducted a global "plogging" event. Plogging is an activity that involves picking up trash while walking or running. This activity, which protects both health and the environment, took place in South Korea and Vietnam.
Lock&Lock announced on the 10th that in South Korea, the university student eco-friendly supporters group "Green Mate 22nd generation" participated in plogging by picking up disposable waste around Seoul Forest. About 20 Green Mates from Lock&Lock took part in the event held on the 3rd. Green Mate is Lock&Lock’s official university student supporter group that carries out eco-friendly missions. Since its establishment in 2013, two groups have been selected annually, continuing activities for 12 years. The 22nd generation Green Mate, which started activities in April, is spreading eco-friendly culture through various activities such as the "Reusable Container Usage Challenge" and the "Green Campus Campaign" on university campuses.
Through this plogging event, they kept Seoul Forest, a popular spring outing spot, clean and raised awareness among citizens about the importance of environmental protection. They also held an eco-friendly campaign while visiting the lunchbox garden created by Lock&Lock in Seoul Forest. Suin Lim, a Green Mate student who participated in the plogging, said, “I have always been interested in environmental protection, but I never had the chance to participate in plogging directly, so I am glad to be involved in such a meaningful activity. Through this participation, I will pay more attention to whether my school or neighborhood is clean and continue regular cleanup activities.”

While joining in trash collection, they also distributed tumblers and food storage containers to participants to encourage the use of reusable containers.
