Pyeongtaek City Promotes Expansion of Solar Power and Other Renewable Energy Sources
Pursuing National Funding Contests and Inter-Agency Memorandums of Understanding
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that it will promote the expansion of renewable energy distribution projects through national government project competitions and inter-agency agreements to achieve carbon neutrality and reduce citizens' energy costs.
To this end, the city plans to implement ▲ renewable energy distribution projects ▲ convergence support projects ▲ housing support projects ▲ mini solar power distribution projects.
The renewable energy distribution project provides a fixed amount of financial support from the government and local governments when installing renewable energy facilities such as solar power for self-consumption.
The convergence support project is currently being pursued by the city to participate in next year's national government project competition. A demand survey is underway through consortium-selected companies targeting towns and townships in the western region. Interested applicants must submit an application form to the relevant administrative welfare center by the 20th.
The housing support project targets detached houses and includes the housing support project promoted by the Korea Energy Agency and the housing solar power support project independently promoted by Gyeonggi Province. By linking national and provincial funds, an additional 1 million KRW per household will be supported for 50 households each. The Korea Energy Agency’s support project is currently closed for applications, and Gyeonggi Province’s housing solar power support project will begin accepting installation applicants from the 13th.
The mini solar power distribution project targets detached and multi-family houses within the jurisdiction. A demand survey was completed last year, and this year, 87.2 kW will be installed in 109 households. The selection process for participating companies is currently underway, and the participating companies will be finalized within this month to begin installation from next month.
