Jeju Coast Guard Conducts Special Crackdown on Fishing Activities to Prevent Accidents
Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief So Byung-yong) announced on the 8th that from the 1st to the 30th of last month, they conducted special inspections focusing on major ports and coastal areas to prevent accidents by promoting a safe fishing culture, resulting in 3 major violations being caught.
From the 1st to the 30th of last month, special inspections on fishing activities were conducted mainly at major ports and harbors as well as offshore areas, resulting in three major violations being caught.

During the special inspection period, a total of 62 fishing vessels and 564 people in the jurisdiction were randomly checked, and 3 cases involving 10 people were caught for violations such as unreported entry and exit, fishing in prohibited areas, and prohibited activities on the water surface.
Jeju Maritime Police are establishing safety management measures to prevent violations of safety rules that can be easily overlooked and to prevent accidents through special inspections during peak fishing vessel activity seasons such as spring and autumn.
A Jeju Maritime Police official stated, “Even outside of special inspection periods, we ask everyone to always comply with safety rules to ensure safe and enjoyable leisure activities.”
