Now in its second year, 'Character Reading Week' is a library-led reading culture campaign designed to cultivate a righteous and healthy inner self through reading, and to develop the character and competencies necessary for living harmoniously with others, the community, and nature.
The ten libraries will run various reading programs under the theme "Colored by the Light of Books, Blooming with Character" to promote the practice of character virtues.
Seodong Library will host "Character up, Character play: Family Character Book Play," and Gudeok Library will offer a special lecture titled "Achievement UP! Mug Cup Drawing One-Day Class," among a total of 188 programs including 34 special lectures, 5 performances, 82 experiential events, 54 exhibitions, and 13 discussions.
In particular, Citizen Library has prepared an invited lecture by author Kwak Han-young, who wrote "Books That Protected My Sixteen Years," and Haeundae Library is organizing the event "Between You and Me Connected by Picture Books."
