View original imageGyeonggi Province is launching the 'Gyeonggi Province Automobile Maintenance Industry Support Project,' the first in the nation to provide financial support for improving maintenance and inspection equipment for eco-friendly vehicles such as hybrids and electric cars.
Eco-friendly vehicles refer to electric vehicles, solar-powered vehicles, hybrid vehicles, or fuel cell vehicles.
According to Gyeonggi Province, the number of eco-friendly vehicles in the province increased from 210,000 in 2020 to 520,000 in 2023. However, there are only 1,517 places nationwide, including Gyeonggi Province (manufacturer-operated maintenance shops), capable of servicing eco-friendly vehicles, which is insufficient.
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province plans to invest 250 million KRW in budget to support over 100 automobile maintenance businesses, providing up to 2.5 million KRW per business for improving maintenance and inspection equipment to enhance servicing for eco-friendly vehicle users.
The supported equipment includes vehicle fault diagnostic devices capable of inspecting eco-friendly vehicles and mobile table lifts that assist in safely attaching and detaching batteries installed in electric or hybrid vehicles.
Support is available to businesses where employees have completed 'eco-friendly vehicle maintenance and safety-related training' or have obtained 'eco-friendly vehicle maintenance-related qualifications' among automobile maintenance businesses in the province.
Applicants can refer to the announcement on the Gyeonggi Provincial Government website (www.gg.go.kr) and submit their application forms by email to the person in charge (just4328@gg.go.kr) or by registered mail by the 29th of this month.
