Silla University Teacher Training Institution Holds 'SCE Civic Education Field Support Team Meeting'
Silla University (President Heo Nam-sik) College of Education and Graduate School of Education held the ‘SCE (Silla Citizenship Education) Citizenship Education Field Support Group Meeting’ together with local education office teachers and education administrators.

View original imageThe Teacher Training Institution Citizenship Education Capacity Building Project Group, operated by Silla University College of Education and Graduate School of Education, held the ‘SCE Citizenship Education Field Support Group Meeting’ on the 2nd at Busan Lotte Hotel, attended by about 40 people including current and former teachers and education administrators from local education offices, researchers from Seoul National University’s Institute of Education Research, Education Sharing Research Institute, Multicultural Support Center, and professors from local universities.
Through this meeting, discussions were held on ▲ introduction of the achievements of the SCE citizenship education capacity building project ▲ core competencies of ecological, digital, community, and multicultural citizenship education and directions for training prospective teachers ▲ citizenship education capacity and future education development directions.
In 2023, Silla University College of Education and Graduate School of Education were the only institutions selected in the southeastern region for the ‘Teacher Training University Prospective Teachers’ Citizenship Education Capacity Building Project’ announced by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, operating the ‘SCE Citizenship Education Field Support Group.’ They are developing and operating educational models to strengthen prospective teachers’ citizenship education capacity and striving to resolve major challenges by sharing school field-based expertise and skills.
