The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) has publicly declared its commitment to becoming the leading institution contributing to national greenhouse gas reduction.
On the 7th, the agency announced the "KEA Climate Action Future Strategy" at its headquarters in Ulsan. This event was organized to proclaim the climate action commitment of KEA employees both internally and externally, and to declare the agency’s determination to advance as the "leading institution contributing to national greenhouse gas reduction" through the KEA Climate Action Future Strategy, which is based on innovation in the agency’s key operations.
The proclamation ceremony was attended by Kim Sang-hyup, Chairman of the 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee, Lee Sang-hoon, KEA Chairman, agency employees, resident partner companies, and future generations. The event proceeded with the announcement of the KEA Climate Action Future Strategy, the KEA Climate Action Practice Declaration, a ceremony for future generations, and a special lecture by Chairman Kim.

View original imageEarlier, to actively participate in climate action and contribute to national greenhouse gas reduction, the agency established the Climate Policy Office this year, a dedicated department for climate action. KEA is developing and implementing the "KEA Climate Action Future Development Strategy," which includes commitments and strategies such as establishing a climate action institutional foundation, supporting greenhouse gas reduction in the industrial sector, creating a consumer-led implementation base, and promoting global expansion of the climate industry.
Through this event, KEA employees declared their active commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting the environment in their daily lives by participating in the "Turn Off (OFF), Reduce (DIET), Eliminate (ZERO)" KEA Employee Lifestyle Practice Program. Partner companies also joined this climate action lifestyle practice program, establishing a carbon-neutral lifestyle practice system involving the entire agency.

Chairman Lee said, "Today’s proclamation ceremony is a social declaration of the entire agency and each employee’s commitment to climate action," adding, "We will continuously strive to deliver a clean tomorrow, not a climate crisis, to future generations who will be the protagonists of the carbon-neutral era."
